Champion Hill - Dulwich Hamlet F.C - 2011
My good friend Steve and I popped down to the Dulwich Hamlet ground to see Sutton Grammar old boys in a cup final. They lost and so we hit the bar(s). This is the 3rd time here and I needed to get it ticked off the list so to speak! This is built on the site of the old stadium. The previous ground was enormous and regularly held amateur cup finals (including the one K's won in the 1950's). They sold the land and in what appears to be a common occurance at non-league level, got stitched up and now play on a much smaller ground on the site of the old stadium which is owned by and rented from sainsbury's, who purchased the site for a megastore.
In the years since this artcile was written Dulwich Hamlet have a cult hipster following who travel to this ironic suburb on the London Overground.
