Kingsmeadow Stadium - Kingstonian F.C

Kingsmeadow Stadium - Kingstonian F.C - 2009

Everybody Wants to rule the world
This has been Kingstonian's home ground since 1989 when the club moved from Richmond Road after a small groundshare at Hampton. Since this article was written Kingstonian have played their last game at the stadium and are now nomadic. This starts with an era at Leatherhead in 2017-2018 season.

It is also known as 'The Cherry Red Records Fan Stadium Kingsmeadow' and is the home stadium of AFC Wimbledon. Since the article was written AFC Wimbledon have agreed to sell the leasehold to Chelsea F.C for youth and women's football. This opens up the return to Plough Lane.

On this particular game I saw Kingstonian get an absolute pasting from Harrow. 3-5. Kingsmeadow - "the famous home of the K's" and "This is Kingstonian" etc

Behind the goal at the home end (the Kingston Road end) (with Bobby Traynor scoring a penalty after another Dean Lodge foul in the box). This end has been recently updated with about 5 steps to give a better view and an incline to allow more people to fit into it. The roof is now perilously close to your head when you celebrate.

Can he score it?

Opposite the main stand is the oldest part of the ground which hasn't seen any development whatsoever since the ground was built. It is where everyone abuses the dugouts since they moved from the main stand in around 2007. It's been patched up several times especially after big games when it gets lumps kicked out of it. K's fans always refer to it as the 'Grolsch' stand after a lucrative sponsorship deal in the glory years of the FA Trophy wins at Wembley.

Kingsmeadow is certainly capable of hosting Conference national football and one of the nicest parts of the stadium has to be the Athletics end terrace which is now complete with a roof paid for by the new leaseholders. It is a great stand for noise and has a sunken walkway so people don't spoil the views!

The main stand has been extended on the roof and seats to fit in more seats and more crucially spectators. This stand still has seats and details from when the stadium was first built. I used to stand where this extension is as a kid when watching games.
