White Hart Lane - Tottenham Hotspur - 2010
Leeds United's reward for a victory at Old Trafford was to be drawn away at White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur. Having failed miserably to get a ticket in the Leeds end I decided to get a ticket with the Spurs fans at the other end. Luckily my Tottenham supporting friend helped me out here!
White Hart Lane wont be around for too much longer. Spurs' penis envy of the Emirates Stadium means that soon they will be moving into a bigger stadium with more seats, boxes and money. This is to be built right next door so will be 3/4 finished when they move in, and completed when the old ground is knocked down.
White Hart Lane is pretty much a box. Apparently it is the only true totally two-tiered football ground in England (MK Dons is, but the top is empty at the moment). It has undergone countless refurbishments and upgrades over the years to try and squeeze in more and more fans. It's almost impossible to get a season ticket unless someone dies and you inherit it!
The stadium is located in perhaps not the nicest part of London but I liked my stay. The views are pretty impressive as the pitch is slightly raised and the acoustics are impressive! I even managed to get a beer in the ground as I was sat away from the Leeds 'scum'.
The game itself was pretty quiet with Leeds playing with one up front. Somehow we managed to come back twice, the second equaliser being a penalty in the last minute.
